While our doctors can take care of most of your pets’ needs, occasionally the services of a veterinary specialist are required. These doctors have completed a veterinary program followed by an internship and residency to specialize in their chosen area of expertise. Furthermore, they have passed examinations to become boarded in their respective specialties. Examples of cases we may refer include neurological disease, severe ophthalmic disease, complex metabolic diseases, difficult dermatological disorders, advanced oncology, behavioral issues, and complex surgical cases.
Our referral partners communicate with our doctors to discuss their findings. In many cases, referral cases are then sent back to our hospital for follow-up care. If referral is recommended, our doctors will discuss your pet’s case with you and guide you through this process.
